Richard A. Pender
Republican Candidate for the Township Council, Richard A. Pender and his late wife Joan were among the original group of residents at Society Hill North in North Brunswick. During the years of their residency in the Township, Richard has noticed the changes to the quality of life brought by the increases in both residential and commercial development along with the loss of industrial operations.
Richard is a retired engineer, a former corporate Plant Engineer and Facilities Manager for a Fortune 500 company. In his retirement years, Richard has become an author. He has published two books and is currently working on several more literary projects dealing with subjects of twentieth century American life. Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and is a member of American Legion Post 459.
If elected, Richard will be an advocate for the Senior Community of North Brunswick who feel the pinch of taxes threatening their future to remain this Township. He will also seek parity for those unit owners in planned developments who receive minimal Municipal services for their tax dollars. Richard feels that former industrial facilities lying dormant in the township are potential assets that could be revived by encouraging manufacturers to relocate in North Brunswick which offers prime locations to the major transportation corridors.
